Guadua angustifolia

Size: 60-70ft X 6 inches

Origin: South America

A timber bamboo known worldwide as the strongest construction grade building bamboo which boasts the tensile strength of mild steel.

In South America, Guadua is used for the most state of the art bamboo construction. Bridges, buildings, cathedrals and more are built using Guadua.

Guadua has thick walled dark green culms, which have prominent white bands at each node. It also has thorny branches which when mature start about 15 feet in the air.

Wide spaced rhizome system. The stands become quite large, so give them some room.
