This plant has become one of our favorites because of its’ beauty and extremely vertical growth habit.

It has showy pinkish purple/green variegated culms, which are vertical right from the start and large green leaves.

Gigantochloa medium maxima would make an attractive privacy barrier.

Edible shoots and strong timber.
