Dendrocalamus brandesii

Size: 60-80ft X 6-8 inches

A giant thick-walled timber bamboo that has strong, green culms which are covered in brown and sliver fuzz.  Attractive dark green velvety leaves. The lower portions of the culms are branchless.

Dendrocalamus brandesii is grown best at low elevation and in a protected environment.

Produces huge, delicious edible shoots.
